Unknown
Name: Unknown
Age: 16
Sex: female
Race: Half Breed
Appearance: see pic
Personality: She doesn’t speak. It’s not that she can’t, for she understands what is said to her, but her past has traumatized her so much she refuses to speak. She is skittish around people and takes a long time to warm up.
Bio: Her real name is Rowan, though she grew up being called Foundling. The story goes that The Heretic Witch, found her one day out in the forest and brought her home to raise as her own child. The Heretic Witch was of The Grove Clan, their clan specializing in plants and their properties. She abandoned her Coven, and dropped her name of Elm, instead taking a European type name of Sarah Goodman. Strangely enough, she still practiced magic, and still had contact with her family; she just never wanted to take on the Clan responsibilities, feeling she wasn’t really up for the task. A task any of her sisters could easily do.
The Heretic Witch received much flack for raising up a half breed, but she didn’t care, and told them the Goddess put this child in her Path, so raise her she would. While the family for the most part disagreed, they would not argue the Goddess. So, Foundling was left alone for the most part, quite literally. She watched The Heretic Witch practice magic and rituals through her younger years, and understands the principles and practices behind them, though she has had no formal training.
When she was three, it was discovered that she had a talent for drawing, and from then on, she was always seen with a sketch pad and pencils. When she was 10, the Heretic Witch’s niece, fearing for her aunts safety, and thinking the Foundling would bring her to harm just by her existence, sold them out to the Christians. They had promised to take the Foundling away, and leave Sarah alone. They only half kept their promise, they took the Foundling away, but they burned Sarah at the stake, and that is why she is now known as The Heretic Witch by Christians and Pagans alike.
Willow, the niece that betrayed them, tried to make them stop, but when threatened with the same fate stumbled off, escaping them. Rowan watched it all. She was then taken to one of the few Monasteries to reside as a slave. She hadn’t been there a week, before the Monks there decided she was the Devil incarnate. It was decided to punish her. First they stripped her, then they tied her to a post and whipped her until her back was a bloody raw mess.
That wasn’t enough though. Soon it was decided they needed to take more drastic measures. Half breeds are less than human, so it was alright to use them to alleviate sexual tensions. So she was next staked out on a slab and the priests started fondling her and touching her in ways she didn’t like. Just before the head priest could actually rape her, she called upon the Goddess and the Power. She killed every last Priest within the monastery, leaving only other Half Breeds alive.
The Half Breeds banded together and headed to the Badlands. There they established a hidden village and lived. She was nursed back to health and eventually was able to walk again. But she never spoke another word, and was skittish of people and feared Power greatly. She lived in the Half Breed community for two years, and in that time, she’d taken to wandering the surrounding areas on her own. She found a Native Burial Ground, and it called to her, so she entered, and started doing things that seemed and felt right, trying to honor the dead. As it would happen, one day while she was tending the Burial Grounds, some Natives were also coming to tend them. Spotting her, she was chased from the grounds, but didn’t manage to get away completely unscathed. She was shot with an arrow.
She managed to keep her head enough to lead them a merry chase away from the Half Breed settlement, and finally lost them and returned around dark. She stumbled in and promptly passed out. She was nursed back to health and as soon as she was strong enough, she was beaten by the settlement Elder. He wanted her to promise to never go to a Burial Ground again, or he would kill her next time. She passed out before promising.
In the middle of the night, fevered, she gathered her things and snuck out of the settlement. She wasn’t about to promise something she would break. Wolves found her, and adopted her into their pack. For three years she ran with them. But now she must return to humans for she can feel herself loosing herself, and something deep down tells her she needs people to bring her back to herself.
Other Info: She has a talent for drawing, and can draw quickly, and without really looking as well, if the whim strikes her. Her hair is solid white, except what would frame her face that is pitch black and usually kept in braids. Otherwise she is like the picture. And she stands at 5’5”. And her eyes are a vivid emerald green.
