Mʉa Kupi̲ta
name: Mʉa Kupi̲ta
age: 28
gender: Male
race: Native American (Comanche)/White
Blood Status: Half Blood
position: Teacher - Lycanthropy and How To Live With It
Signature Spell:
Vinculum Lycanthropus
This spell was made by one of Mʉa’s Ancestors by modifying the Magical Chain spell. This spell is specific to Lycanthropes. It will bind and hold a Lycanthrope until either released by Mʉa, or the Lycanthrope changes back to their Human form. It was primarily invented to hold a Lycanthrope from harming themselves or others. The chains glow eerie silver in color and resemble moonbeams. It has been passed down through the family for generations.
Repello Aliquis/Populo
This spell is a modification of Repello Muggletum that Mʉa came up with to protect anyone not a Lycanthrope from getting too close. The spell repels a person/people, be they Muggle or Wizard/Witch, the spell won’t differentiate. Its purpose is to protect both the person/persons being repelled and the Lycanthrope.
Wand: Redwood/Thunder Bird/8 and ½ inch
mirror, mirror on the wall: Mʉa stands at about six foot even and weighs in at one hundred and fifty-nine pounds. He is far more modern in dress compared to the twins. He is most comfortable in jeans and a t-shirts, and even teaches in such. He is also known for wearing a cowboy hat and boots.
in my heart of hearts: While he gives honour to his Native American roots, he also embraces his Pale Face side. Mʉa is much quicker to smile, less unapproachable, and far more easy going. While he understands the ways of his Father’s People, and doesn’t really blame them in the least, he is more like his Mother and her People. He is quick to help a person in need, be a shoulder to cry or lean on, or just be someone to vent to.
my dark past: Mʉa is a Nativce American Comanche, he is a Half Blood in both the Wizarding World and the Native American one. He is a distant cousin to Kutseena and Inali Sai.
It is said in his family legends that Old Man Coyote came upon a Comanche warrior near to dying. The warrior had taken out many an Apache brave and the bodies were littered about his dying form. Coyote, impressed, and not wanting to see such a one go to the Happy Hunting Grounds so soon made him a deal. Honour him, protect his children the coyotes, and he would save him from death. The Comanche agreed and, being the Trickster that he was, Old Man Coyote bit him giving him Lycanthropy. While not exactly what the Comanche had in mind, Coyote had lived up to his word and saved the young man from death.
Lycanthropy is well known to the Native Americans, and while Coyote is the most common form, Wolf and even Puma are also about, as well as rumours of Bear. The Native Peoples have actually developed ways to control their Lycanthropy and not become so animalistic as their Pale Face counter parts. They still retain their Humanism and some have even managed to control the Change at will. Mʉa is one such.
When the University of the Dragonclaw was first founded, Mʉa was asked to come teach a class on Lycanthropy and help others to achieve what the Native Americans have. He thought long and hard on the offer and at first refused. He did not feel that at seventeen, he was anywhere qualified to teach others his own age. Eventually though, his own kind and helpful nature caused him to change his mind, and much repeated requests every year. He has been teaching at Dragonclaw U now for two years, this semester will be his third. It is because of him the twins have even considered enrolling here, though their parents and they have no idea, since word and suggestion has reached them by round about means.
On a side note, Native Americans take a different view to the Wizarding World. Unlike the Whites, who hide the Magic from their Muggle counterparts, Native Americans do not. Wizard and Muggle mix and live together. More often than not, you can over hear a conversation about some Witch or Wizard talking about a spell or potion to a Native Muggle as you would to hear them talk about the weather.
Player Note: When they speak in Comanche, I will be using maroon and italics for the words. English will be normal type.
